A Web3 gathering of policy, capital, and technology

GWDC 2026 KOREA is the second edition of the Global Web3 Developer Conference, held in Seoul after the inaugural event in Hong Kong in February 2026. According to information published by the organizers, this year's event was expected to draw 5,000+ attendees, 500+ developers from around the world, 100+ speakers, and 100+ participating companies, with a program spanning keynotes, technical forums, a developer hackathon, project showcases, and business networking.

The speaker lineup covered policymaking, digital asset trading, technology innovation, and Web3 ecosystem building. The published list included Koo Yun-cheol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy of South Korea; Min Byung-dug, Member of the National Assembly of South Korea; Johnny Ng, Member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council and of the National Committee of the CPPCC; as well as industry figures such as Bithumb CEO Lee Jae-won, Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu, and TRON founder Justin Sun. Representatives from Microsoft, Kakao Pay, NAVER, and other technology and blockchain companies also took part in the program.

From cross-regional policy dialogue to industry discussions on trading platforms, infrastructure, and AI, the conference reflected how increasingly intertwined the Web3 industry has become. Attention is no longer limited to individual on-chain applications; it now extends to underlying infrastructure, digital asset markets, real-world AI deployment, and practical business use cases. For blockchain projects that are building out their technology while expanding their global ecosystems, conferences that bring so many parts of the industry together are a valuable chance to understand market needs, compare notes on technical direction, and explore potential partnerships.

Juan José on the main stage: a parallel AI blockchain for the machine economy

As part of the main-stage program, Bitroot CEO Juan José gave a keynote on September 29 titled "The Parallel AI Blockchain for the Machine Economy", focusing on where parallel AI blockchains and the machine economy are heading.

As AI agents, autonomous software systems, and automated business processes continue to develop, the digital economy will need more than models that provide information and make decisions. It will also need infrastructure that supports programmatic transactions, on-chain asset management, and verifiable execution. As AI systems take on more complex tasks, transaction throughput, execution determinism, data trustworthiness, and the ability of systems to work together all become fundamental questions worth attention.

Blockchains can provide a verifiable foundation for digital assets, transaction records, and programmatic execution, while AI has the potential to move on-chain applications from user-initiated actions toward much greater automation. Combining the two is not just a matter of application-level innovation; it also places new demands on the performance and execution architecture of the underlying network.

The focus of Juan José's talk is closely tied to the technical roadmap Bitroot has been pursuing. Bitroot treats parallel EVM execution as one of its core technical directions, aiming to improve how a blockchain handles complex transactions and high-frequency interactions, and exploring the potential value of blockchain infrastructure for AI applications and the machine economy.

The main-stage session gave Bitroot an opportunity to present its technical direction to an international industry audience and to join the wider conversation about how next-generation blockchain infrastructure and AI come together.

Connecting with industry participants from around the world

Beyond the main-stage talk, the Bitroot team also met with guests, developers, project teams, and other industry participants at booth C08.

For an infrastructure project, an industry conference is not only a place to showcase technology and brand; it is also an important way to learn what the market actually needs. Face-to-face conversations let the team hear more directly what developers care about in network performance, application deployment, and ecosystem support, and discuss possible technical collaboration and business partnerships with other projects and institutions.

During the conference, the Bitroot team also took part in a number of business meetings and closed-door discussions, exchanging views on industry trends, ecosystem collaboration, and opportunities in the Korean market. These conversations laid the groundwork for follow-up discussions and helped the team better understand the needs and priorities of different market participants.

Bitroot values the long-term benefit of this kind of direct exchange. For a Layer 1 project that is still building out its technology and ecosystem, meaningful industry engagement is not just about visibility. It is about establishing ongoing channels of communication with developers, partners, and potential ecosystem participants, and gradually turning technical discussions into real products and ecosystem growth.

Parallel EVM and AI infrastructure: Bitroot's ongoing technical direction

Bitroot is positioned as an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain for AI applications and high-performance on-chain execution, with its work centered on parallel transaction execution, network performance optimization, and bringing AI and blockchain infrastructure together.

When processing large volumes of transactions, traditional blockchain execution architectures can be constrained by execution ordering, state access conflicts, and network throughput. As on-chain finance, digital asset trading, gaming, and automated applications grow, raising transaction processing efficiency while preserving state consistency and execution reliability has become a key area of ongoing optimization for base-layer infrastructure.

Through its parallel EVM execution design, Bitroot is exploring more efficient scheduling and execution of transactions that can be processed in parallel, combined with work on conflict detection, dependency analysis, and consensus, to improve the network's ability to handle complex on-chain activity. At the same time, EVM compatibility helps lower the barrier for developers to migrate existing applications and build new ones, giving the ecosystem a broader technical foundation to grow on.

When it comes to combining AI and blockchain, Bitroot is not simply layering AI features onto on-chain applications. It is exploring the infrastructure value of blockchains in scenarios such as AI agent transactions, automated execution, verifiable records, and decentralized compute collaboration. As AI applications move from content generation toward carrying out tasks and taking part in economic activity, base-layer networks that can support programmatic interaction, verifiable operations, and the movement of digital assets are likely to become an important part of how these applications develop.

Of course, the value of any technical roadmap ultimately has to be proven through sustained engineering, network testing, developer adoption, and real-world use. Bitroot will continue to improve protocol and execution performance, and will keep building out developer tools, ecosystem applications, and infrastructure partnerships.

Korea as a key market in an expanding international ecosystem

South Korea has an active digital asset market, a mature technology industry, and a growing community of Web3 developers and projects. By bringing together local and international industry participants, GWDC 2026 KOREA gave Bitroot an opportunity to learn more about the Korean market, meet potential partners, and strengthen its regional ecosystem ties.

Through the main-stage talk, booth conversations, and business meetings at the conference, Bitroot opened channels for further dialogue with industry participants from a range of backgrounds. For the project's international growth, understanding local developer needs, market conditions, and partnership models matters just as much as continuing to strengthen its technology.

Bitroot will keep following ecosystem developments in Korea and other Asian markets, stay in conversation with developers, project teams, and industry organizations, and explore opportunities for technical collaboration, real-world deployment, and community building based on actual needs. Future regional expansion will be grounded in ongoing communication and concrete collaboration, gradually building ecosystem relationships with lasting value.

The close of GWDC 2026 KOREA marks the end of this trip to Seoul, but industry dialogue and ecosystem building will carry on. For Bitroot, taking part in international industry conferences is about helping more people in the industry understand the project's technical direction, and about creating more room for future collaboration through continued dialogue and building.

Bitroot will continue to advance its technical development around parallel EVM, blockchain execution efficiency, and AI infrastructure, while actively participating in the global Web3 industry conversation and exploring how blockchain technology can be applied in the next generation of the digital economy.
